LVT Floor Product Introduction

-What is LVT floor?

LVT floor letter meaning, Luxury, luxurious; Vinyl, vinyl; Tile, brick. LuxuryVinylTile, literally translated as high-grade vinyl floor tiles, LVT is stone plastic floor. LVT floor can be divided into: ordinary (DryBack) lock (click) and glue-free (Looselay) according to the assembly method. From the bottom to the surface, it is composed of a backing layer, a core layer, a glass fiber, a decorative paper and a wear layer.

-What are the characteristics of LVT floor?

✦Quick and easy installation: Available in brick and plank, as well as sheets, it's easy to install. Floor tiles are usually in 12-inch squares, so they're easy to handle and both sides of the tiles and planks are often manufactured with a "peel-and-stick" backing, which means they're easy for owners to lay down themselves (saving money on professional installations).

✦Moisture Resistance: Vinyl flooring is completely waterproof, so it can be used almost anywhere in the home, including main, upper and below grades. It works especially in bathrooms and kitchens, where water tends to end up on the floor.

✦EASY CLEAN-UP: Water only needs to bead on the surface, so it's easy to mop up. Plus, regular sweeping and occasional wet mopping are all it takes to keep a vinyl floor clean and bright.

✦Durability: Most vinyl floors have a "wear layer" (sometimes up to three) on top of the vinyl itself, so it's resistant to normal traffic wear.

✦Comfort: Vinyl is a "resilient" floor, which means its soft texture has a little "give" when you walk on it, making it a good work platform you can stand on for hours.

-LVT floor maintenance precautions

✦Do I need to wax the LVT elastic floor?

Unnecessary. This is crucial, LVT resilient floors do not need to be waxed, but can be well maintained with the proper use of a floor polish. There is a big difference between the two, floor wax is generally derived from carnauba wax and requires special polishing equipment each time it is used. In general, the floors of schools and hospitals are often treated with wax for maintenance so that the floors look clean and shiny. The floor polish is a more liquid-based material, which can be used with a mop and a bucket. This is different from wax, which is more solid and needs to be polished on the floor surface. For surfaces that are prone to abrasion or scratching, the manufacturer recommends the use of a polish, although this not a hard requirement, but when used properly, floor polishes can provide a protective barrier and improve the gloss and longevity of your floors.

✦Do I need to use a high speed polisher on the floor polish to improve the gloss?

Unnecessary. High-speed polishing will cause the wear layer to penetrate into the core layer of the floor, causing damage to the floor. High-speed polishing can also cause the layers of the floor to separate, resulting in delamination. On LVT resilient floors, it is recommended that you polish the floor at a slow speed to increase the gloss.

✦What should I do if there are scratches or wear on the floor?

Use a dry mop, broom, or vacuum every day to remove debris or grit from the floor surface to avoid surface scratches. If scratches or wear have appeared, you can lightly polish and the floor will look like new. Other simple fixes include the use of lacquer or resilient floor sealer (after cleaning) to hide most minor to moderate wear. Stain repair tools are also useful. If the scratches are deep (such as grooves, cuts, or dents), it's a relatively simple process to replace the floor. Abrasion is similar to deep scratches in that anything that causes wear (shoes, chairs, strollers, etc.) can transfer heat and damage the wear layer. Other solutions include sticking a tennis ball on the top of the stick, wiping the scuff marks, or using a rubber pad to wipe the worn areas. Deep wear scars that damage the wear layer can be treated with a floor polish, which, when used properly, will help minimize visible damage.

✦Will LVT resilient floors help hide dirt or wear?

When dealing with dirt, it is best to be prompt and quick. Therefore, we recommend that LVT elastic flooring can be used in heavily polluted areas with high traffic. Premium resilient floors are patterned in a variety of shades or textures that do a great job of concealing pedestrian footprints, scratches or dust. Of course, using light-colored floors can also have the problem of leaving dirt nowhere to hide, but keep in mind that spills or dirt from LVT floors can be easily wiped away.

The important thing to remember is that like all other hard floor products, premium resilient floors are susceptible to normal wear and tear, especially in high traffic areas. However, unlike many other flooring products available today, Premium Resilient Flooring is easy to clean from spills, stains, abrasions or scratches. The key is to look for ways to minimize damage by relying on a high-quality paint that protects the floor and following daily maintenance recommendations.
